Marrying one building with another.

 

This project entailed the integration of two vastly different buildings in the main road of Wineberg.

 

Prior to this project, a six-storey building was converted from a Medi-Cross Hospital to the head office/call centre of Homechoice. A couple of years later, the owner ran out of space and bought the single-storey retail building next door.

The challenge was to marry these two buildings owned by Homechoice so it could turn into one; functioning and reading aesthetically as one building.

​

 

The result was a multi-volume entrance gallery between the two buildings that linked the existing offices physically and visually. This extravagant multi-level space housed all the vertical and horizontal circulations between the different call centres as well as an airy cafeteria.
